I was hoping for some better hi-resolution photos to surface before posting information on these, but I’ve already waited a while and none of those have turned up, so these photos will have to do. Coming in 2013 as part of the Halo 4 Mega Bloks Cauldron Crash 97118 set: Prometheans figures of the Knight, Crawler, and Watcher!

Over on the official Halo Mega Bloks Facebook page, MEGA Brands was nice enough to give us a sneak peek photo a couple weeks ago of some 100% all-new Halo 4 figures coming out next year: the Forerunner Knight, Watcher, and Crawler! These Prometheans are the main Forerunner enemies that the Master Chief encounters in Halo 4 (besides the Didact, obviously). Fans have been dying with anticipation for figures of these Prometheans, but as they required totally new sculpts, none of them made it out in time for the Halo 4 Mega Bloks 2012 assortment.

But fear not! The Forerunner Knight, Crawler, and Watcher will all be arriving in just another month or two, when the Halo Mega Bloks Cauldron Crash 97118 set launches! This is a new take on the Battlescapes that MEGA Brands has released before, as the main component of the set will be based on the Requiem multi-player map “Cauldron Crash” from Halo 4.  The structure looks extremely cool and vastly different from any Halo Mega Bloks Battlescape that we’ve seen previously.

The set includes six figures: a humongous Promethean Knight, two Promethean Crawlers, a Promethean Watcher, a green Spartan Soldier, and a UNSC Marine. The set details originally only indicated one Crawler was included, but photos seem to suggest there are actually two. I can’t believe how enormous the Forerunner Knight figure is–he’s literally going to tower over every other Halo Mega Bloks figure! Meanwhile, this is the first toy released of the Forerunner Watcher with both rings out, as the McFarlane Watcher action figure only featured one ring (which was behind its back at that).

The set is going to include three weapons: a Forerunner Scattershot (which is attached to the Knight’s arm but looks like it can be removed), a Railgun, and a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR). All of these weapons are newly-released for the Halo Mega Bloks line, making this one of the freshest and most exciting Halo Mega Bloks sets released in quite some time!

The Halo 4 Mega Bloks Cauldron Crash 97118 is estimated for release in late January 2013. We’ll update with more photos and a full review of the set when it becomes available.
