If I said I wasn’t getting a little impatient waiting for the first NECA Halo figure to arrive, I would be totally lying. It was still 2013 when NECA announced their acquisition of the Halo license, and we got our first glimpse of the NECA 18″ Master Chief figure prototype way back at the New York Toy Fair 2014 in February. Retailers started taking orders with an estimated summer release date, but that just didn’t happen. But finally–finally–the Master Chief is coming home! Place your orders now if you haven’t done so already–the NECA Halo Master Chief 18″ figure is expected to hit online stores in October 2014!

Hell has officially frozen over, Halo collectors. After over a year with zero new figure releases, today McFarlane Toys announced that in February 2015 Halo 4 Series 3 will be released. And not only is the long-demanded series of figures coming–it’s bringing us perhaps the three most fan-demanded characters from the game: Halo 4 Series 3 Jul Mdama, Commander Sarah Palmer and Spartan Thorne are now up for order!

They say that big toy reveals come in threes (actually, I may have just made that up), and MEGA Brands proved that statement this fourth of July holiday weekend! First they debuted the monumental Halo Mega Bloks Hierarch’s Shade Convoy set, and then followed it up with the Halo 2 Anniversary Battleground battle pack. And to close out the weekend, MEGA had one more humongous Mega Bloks Halo set to announce: the Halo Mega Bloks Spartan Tribute Pack, which comes loaded with twenty Spartan Mark IV figures!

After the reveal of the spectacular Halo Mega Bloks Hierarch’s Shadow Convoy on the 4th of July–including the long-requested Covenant Shade vehicle and the first-ever Mega Bloks figures of Sergeant Johnson and the Prophet of Truth–what more could Halo collectors really ask for? 2014 has been a pretty dark year for Halo collectors, but thankfully, things are finally looking up! Not only do we have the entire summer/fall 2014 Halo Mega Bloks collection to look forward to, but McFarlane Toys, NECA, and Kotobukiya have gotten in on the act and have their own Halo products set for release in 2014. And now one of my absolute favorite companies is coming back into the fold: Square-Enix! I genuinely did not expect any fresh Halo Mega Bloks news or photos to turn up for quite a while still, and I definitely was not expecting the first information and photos of Halo Mega Bloks 2015 sets to appear in the first half of 2014. But after last month’s Halo Mega BloksFest 2014 UK event, TheSSMotion has revealed the first three all-new 2015 Halo Mega Bloks sets for the world to see! Of all the things that I didn’t expect to see at the 2014 Toy Fair last month–but saw anyway–a new line of Halo model kit action figures from Bandai America tops the list. Seeing as how McFarlane Toys has virtually abandoned Halo collectors without a word of comment, I wasn’t expecting any other company to start popping out Halo action figures of any sort. Earlier today I talked about the Brute Minor Covenant Weapons Pack II set, but there’s still one more Summer 2014 Halo Mega Bloks Weapons Pack set left to discuss!
