In what has to be considered an enormous surprise, McFarlane Toys quietly announced a new Halo 4-Pack boxed set of action figures including the four playable characters from the Halo 3 Campaign Co-Op Mode: the Master Chief, Usze ‘Taham, the Arbiter, and N’Tho ‘Sraom. The October-shipping set is listed on the McFarlane Toys website as being in the 6-inch scale, but the molds look very clearly like the outdated Halo 3 5″ molds to me.

Unless there’s been a surprise scale switch, these look to be the exact same Master Chief and Arbiter figures we’ve seen before, although this is probably the best-looking Arbiter action figure that McFarlane Toys has released. These will be the first-ever action figures of N’Tho ‘Sraom and Usze ‘Taham, who appear to be using the old Halo 3 5-inch scale Elite Assault and Elite Combat figure molds (albeit with some pretty phenomenal new paint applications).

As these figures are meant to represent the Halo 3 Campaign, the Master Chief will include an Assault Rifle and Battle Rifle, while the Covenant Sangheili figures will come with Carbines and a Plasma Rifle or Plasma Pistol each.

This Halo 4-Pack boxed set based on the Halo 3 Campaign Co-Op is scheduled to be released by McFarlane Toys next month, October 2012, with an expected suggested retail price of $39.99.
