It was a close call there for a while, but McFarlane Toys has managed to pull off what many collectors thought they wouldn’t: they managed to release the entirety of the Halo 4 Series 2 action figures assortment during their expected release month of September 2013! Two weeks ago Walgreens started to receive the first half of the assortment (with the exclusive green/steel CIO Spartan figure), and now Amazon has the remaining half of Halo 4 Series 2 in-stock and ready to ship–including the long-awaited Halo 4 Elite Ranger and Jackal Storm action figures! Read on my photos of the series and impressions…
- Halo 4 Series 2 Elite Ranger Figure
- Halo 4 Series 2 Jackal Storm Figure
- Halo 4 Series 2 Spartan CIO (Violet Purple) Figure
The figure ratios for the Series 2 Halo 4 cases McFarlane Toys are shipping now are:
(3) Master Chief & Cortana Figure
(2) Purple Spartan CIO Figure
(1) Rust Orange Spartan Scout Figure
(1) Elite Ranger
(1) Jackal Storm
See anything to hate about that case breakdown…? Yeah, me too. Luckily, I ordered my Halo 4 Covenant figures online, so I wasted zero seconds looking for them. Go me. Here’s my thoughts on these final three figures of McFarlane Halo 4 Series 2…
The Violet (Purple) CIO Spartan looks nice enough in person, but it’s not nearly as cooled as the mixed color steel/green Spartan CIO that Walgreens has. I bought it because I wanted the Halo 4 DLC code and to keep my Halo 4 collection complete, but otherwise it’s not a particularly essential figure (at least not for me).
The Series 2 Halo 4 Elite Ranger figure looks really cool in person. You can see his head through the plastic on the helmet very well, which is something I was concerned about based on the prototype photos for this figure. In addition, the Halo 4 Beam Rifle he comes with is enormous. It is vastly bigger than I was expecting it to be and looks terrific. I’m looking forward to getting a few more Elite Rangers to army-build Halo 4 Covenant Beam Rifles with.
The Halo 4 Storm Jackal figure is actually pretty good-looking in person. Some of the early prototypes of this figure looked dreadful, but the finished product is well-done. The texturing and paint deco on the Jackal Storm action figure’s head and neck look really nice, as does the new Halo 4 Covenant Carbine he comes with.
You can pick up all of the figures in Halo 4 Series 2 from Amazon now with no tax and free shipping, and I’ll be posting full reviews and photo galleries of all of the Halo 4 Series 2 McFarlane Toys figures within the next week or so.
I can’t wait to get them also when I was big lots I saw almost every halo 4 series 1 figure and some micro ops
Can’t wait until my area finally gets them.
Just a quick question, does the Storm Jackal’s Jaw have any articulation? Thanks
no articulation for the storm jackal
