Halo 4 Cauldron Clash Mega Bloks Set Pile of Pieces

Cauldron Clash is one of the most-anticipated sets figure-wise for Halo Mega Bloks in quite some time–if not ever! By now I figure everyone has already seen photos of the front of the box, but here’s a quick shot of the back of the box as well:

Cauldron Clash Halo Mega Bloks 97118 Box Back 2013 Though the figures are what has everyone excited about this set, you can’t look past the fact that this set contains 518 pieces–there’s a whole lot of blocks in this set beyond the figures!

2013 Halo 4 Mega Bloks Cauldron Clash Set Contents PhotoI was pleased and surprised to see the translucent orange and red blocks contained in the actual Halo 4 Mega Bloks Cauldron Clash set. These look far, far better than the solid color blocks they appear to be on the packaging for the set.

Promethean Crawler & UNSC Marine Figures and Translucent Blocks from Halo Mega Bloks 97118Every one of the figures in the set is new, and it’s the only place to get Forerunner Prometheans Mega Bloks figures at this time. Each of the six Halo Mega Bloks figures included in the set has been sealed in an individual plastic bag so that the figures won’t rub off of each other or any of the other blocks in the set and damage their paint.

2013 Halo Mega Bloks Cauldron Clash Figures in Bags Prometheans and UNSCI had a brief moment of terror when I unloaded the bag of pieces for the Promethean Knight, as I thought that the factory had somehow goofed and forgotten to include the torso for the Promethean Knight Mega Bloks figure in the baggie.

Promethean Knight Figure Pieces from Halo Mega Bloks Cauldron ClashAs it turns out, the main portion of the Knight action figure is actually carefully protected inside of a cardboard insert in order to prevent damages.

Forerunner Knight Figure Torso from 2013 Halo Mega Bloks in CardboardThough they aren’t even in the same universe of paint detail or articulation as the McFarlane versions of the characters, the Promethean Watcher and Crawler figures still look pretty nice in Halo Mega Bloks form.

Halo Mega Bloks Prometheans Watcher and Crawlers FiguresAlong with the Prometheans, we also get our first-ever Halo Mega Bloks Spartan Solider figure in this set. I’m glad that MEGA Brands picked dark green for this figure, as it’s a nice switch and something a little different from the colors that McFarlane Toys chose (Blue, Orange, and Purple) for the Spartan Soldier.

Halo 4 Spartan Soldier 2013 Mega Bloks Figure with Flight StandI’m baffled about the Spartan Solider’s flight stand, as I wasn’t aware there was any kind of jetpack included with this set, but maybe once I’ve actually fully built the set I’ll understand what MEGA Brands has in mind with this.

  1. There is no jetpack. You just stick the stand in his back and that’s the end of it. 🙁

    • The MSRP on the set is $44.99-$49.99, which is a great price for a 500+ piece set with six figures.

  3. Hey buddy, love your reviews, but sometimes, I just shake my head. THE CLEAR PLASTIC STAND IS FOR THE WATCHER!!! IT FLIES!!! I mean, it even shows the watcher with it on the back of the box… Hope you read this.

    • Ha ok, upon further inspection, I feel like an idiot. THE SET COMES WITH 2 STANDS?!? That’s pretty weird… Sorry about the misunderstanding there… =P Yeah, I think it wouldn’t have been hard to make a nice little jetpack like in the game, considering there is no lack of new parts in this set, why couldn’t they make just one more?

      • One thing I would suggest is attaching the two stands together to make one really tall stand for the watcher… I don’t know, might be cool! Also, i don’t know if it would work, but maybe, have one so a crawler is in mid-pounce! That would look pretty cool.

Hello I also recently bought this set and was very excited for the Promethean knight, unfortunately I had to buy a repackaged item since it was the only one available near where I live and it was still a considerable drive. Only sad thing is some things were missing from the box including the instructions. I’ve tried to contact mega brands through their website but they do not seem to have this play-set in their system yet, and I can not reach them by phone. without the instructions I can not send a request for the most important piece missing from my set the body to the knight. I was wondering if you could please either tell me the piece number or take a clearer picture of it so I can try to make my request. Thank you so much for your time from one Halo mega bloks fan to another.

    • There aren’t piece numbers for the individual pieces of the Promethean Knight, but the item number for the Promethean Knight Mega Bloks figure itself is #AS9711811.
