Collecting of blind-bagged goods is sweeping the American collecting world, with major standout successes such as Star Wars Fighter Pods, Halo Mega Bloks, Disney Vinylmation, and LEGO Mini-Figures. Not even the Master Chief is immune to the blind-bag disease! Like the Flood, the blind-bagging craze is going to spread across the galaxy this fall, when McFarlane Toys releases its first set of 2.5″ blind-packaged Halo Avatars figures.

In Fall 2012, McFarlane Toys will release eight figures based upon the design of the Avatars that XBox Liver games can design on the XBox 360:

• Master Chief
• Metallic Gold Master Chief
• Elite Costume (Gold)
• Carter
• ODST
• Green Operator Helmet and Reach T-Shirt
• Flaming ODST Helmet and ODST T-Shirt
• Warthog Vehicle (Remote-Controlled Size)

Typically, blind-packaged toys have differing levels of rarity with at least one “chaser”, an exceptionally rare figure. No word yet on whether or not McFarlane Toys’ Halo Avatars Series 1 will contain any chase figures, but if it does it will almost certainly be the Metallic Gold Master Chief.
