This past week, a Halo-related event occurred that has been a long time in the making. And by “a long time”, I mean a long time. It was over a year and a half ago that Sideshow Collectibles first showed off their huge Halo Master Chief Premium Format Figure and over 16 months since the pre-orders for the Master Chief statue opened, Sideshow has finally deployed the most massive, beautiful and expensive Halo figure ever!

I don’t talk about Sideshow much on this site, so let me give a quick primer. For those not familiar, Sideshow Collectibles is one of the premier high-end collectibles companies in the world. They announced their first-ever Halo statue in early 2012, but the development and production of the piece ended up taking way longer than anyone expected–likely due to the fact that this monumental Master Chief statue stands over two feet tall and weighs almost 60 pounds!

It’s taken well over a year for pre-order to release, but this month Sideshow is finally shipping out their Master Chief Premium Format Figure, based on the Master Chief’s look in the original Halo: Combat Evolved video game! The Halo Premium Format Figure Master Chief statue is limited to 750 produced and there are still some available for order through the Sideshow Collectibles website.

The Sideshow Collectibles Halo Master Chief statue includes two different right arms for the Master Chief: one of which holds the iconic Halo Assault Rifle, while the other is packing the Magnum that was so amazing in the original Halo video game.

In addition to the regular edition of the Master Chief Halo statue, there’s also a highly sought-after and incredibly limited version of the statue that includes a bonus arm holding the Covenant Needler. This Sideshow exclusive Master Chief statue with Needler was limited to just 300 made, and sold out instantly more than a year ago, and is super-hot on the aftermarket right now–if you want the bonus Covenant Needler arm for the Master Chief, you’ll have to buy him off the secondary market (where the Sideshow exclusive Halo Master Chief Premium Format Statue is currently selling for a hefty price of nearly $1000!).
