If one good mech deserves another, then I guess two good mechs deserve two more good mechs! After last month’s surprising discovery of the upcoming 2013 Halo Mega Bloks Jungle Strike Cyclops and Desert Strike Cyclops, MEGA Brands surprised us this weekend at the New York Toy Fair 2013 by dropping the curtain on yet another two models of the Halo Wars exo-suit: the Halo Mega Bloks Arctic Cyclops 97107 and Stealth Cyclops 97108…

In the campaign mode of the Halo Wars video game, we don’t have much opportunity to see the UNSC Cyclops mech outside of its standard green color-scheme. That’s why, when MEGA Brands revealed the tan/brown Desert Strike Cyclops, I was completely thrown by it. You would think that seeing that alternate-terrain Cyclops would have made a light bulb in my head illuminate that there would be other environment-specific Halo Mega Bloks Cyclops variants in the pipeline, but my senile old brain is just too slow for that.

So over the weekend at the 2013 American International Toy Fair, MEGA Brands managed to take me unawares again with the reveal of the Halo Mega Bloks Covert Ops Cyclops and UNSC Arctic Cyclops. The actual appearances of these mech are about what you’d expect them to be (seeing as how they’re just palette-swaps of the Cyclops we’ve previously seen), although I was a little disappointed to see that the Arctic Marine figure doesn’t have snowy boots like the Snowbound Halo Mega Bloks figures do. Odd.

As there were already packaged samples on hand at the 2013 Toy Fair (and the first two Cyclops sets are already available overseas), you’d be right in guessing that we’ll be seeing these new Halo Mega Bloks Cyclops sets sooner than later. I’d definitely expect all four sets to be available before the full Halo Mega Bloks sets summer 2013 wave hits.

On one hand, I kind of wish MEGA Brands decided to spread out these four flavors of the UNSC Cyclops to save some for later. On the other hand, after seeing the lineup of all four types of Halo Mega Bloks Cyclops at the same time in the same place, I want them all. Now.

Look for the Halo Mega Bloks Stealth Cyclops 97108 and UNSC Arctic Cyclops 97107 to hit stores in spring 2013. We’ll post official pricing and pre-order details as they become available.
