After discussing the unprecedented Halo Mega Bloks Ultimate Combat Pack 97233 of twenty figures that was revealed earlier this week, it’s a bit deflating to go back and talk about a Mega Bloks Halo figure set that’s a little less “ultimate”. Though this set came out earlier this month, it took me a little while to track one down. In stores now (but only at one chain): the Halo Mega Bloks Collector’s Edition Pack 97205!

Halo Mega Bloks Collector's Pack 97205 Box Packaged ReleasedI have to be totally honest here: it’s taken me a bit longer than usual to hunt down the 97205 Halo Mega Bloks Collector’s Edition Pack of figures, but that may be because I wasn’t looking all that hard for it.

Whereas the Ultimate Combat Pack contains all classic Spartan armor permutations from the original Halo trilogy, the Collector’s Edition Pack is composed entirely of Spartan armors from Halo Reach. These aren’t my favorite Spartan armor designs, so this particular set doesn’t hold a lot of interest for me. If anything, I might buy that cool silver Elite General figure on the aftermarket, but the gold Spartans and Blue Covenant figures don’t hold any real allure for me.

  1. This is an absolute must have for me. But, I collect them all so my opinion might be corrupt. I’ll try to find one in the store near me, but if not I’ll just fork up the extra money for one online.

  2. I’d be interested in this set (and many others) if they were available to buy in the UK without paying someone 3X the RRP price on ebay. Seems like we get one or two of the Toys’R’Us exclusives a year and that’s it for retailer specific ones.

  3. I’d buy this, it’s a decent assortment of figures. Also why does it show 2 commando’s instead of 1 commando and 1 pilot or is it just a box art error?

    • It is two Commandos. My mind couldn’t reconcile two of the same figure in a pack and morphed it into an Elite Pilot.

  4. I saw it at my local target. I like it, but I would only buy it for the elite general. Not worth the 25 bucks, though.

  6. these were a huge disapointment. I bought a set and to my dismay, the “gold” spartans are more yellow plastic with a light gold wash. They just dont match any current team colors.

    the only figures worth having in this set are the clear spartan, the silver general elite and the blue grunt.

I bought this set recently and while I find the figures to be ok, I was actually surprised at the covenant weapons, the energy sword was actually pink (at least mine was, but still intimidating) and the other weapons were in the deep indigo like the Seraph little surprises like this are quite nice.
