Now that the Fall 2013 Halo Mega Bloks sets are starting to hit stores in force in some areas, I decided to head out today and hunt for some more Alpha Crawlers and Promethean Watchers (with the Forerunner Weapons Pack and Forerunner Terminal sets, respectively. Well, I didn’t find any of either of those sets–but I did see one of the new Toys R Us exclusives in person for the first time: the Halo Mega Bloks Flood Hunters 97160!

Halo Mega Bloks Flood Hunters 97160 Released in Toys R Us

We first saw photos of the Summer 2013 Mega Bloks Halo Flood Hunters 97160 set quite some time ago, when the set was first released in Asia. Well, it took a while, but it’s finally here in good old North America!

Based largely off of the Halo 3 video game, the set features the first-ever Halo Mega Bloks Flood Carrier Form figure (with Infection Form Flood figures), a grey Covert Ops EOD Spartan, a grey Covert Ops Spartan Scout and another Flood Combat Form action figure. The set is priced at $14.99 and is exclusively available at Toys R Us.

Halo Mega Bloks Covert Ops Scout EOD Flood Carrier Form FiguresI’m a little bit iffy on the Mega Bloks Halo Flood Hunters set, as the only truly new figure in the set is the Mega Bloks Flood Carrier Form, so I ended up not picking this one up. As I was writing up this report I was ogling the photos of the set more and more, though, so I’ll probably end up buying it in due time anyway.

  2. i baught this set about a week and a half ago. while the paint on the carier forms isnt done very well the rest of the set is pretty good. I deffinatly would recomend this set to anyone who wants to build their flood forces or their covert ops spartan army.

  4. I recommend you pick it up while it’s still $14.99. Toys ‘R’ Us is notorious for price raising. It’s only a matter of time before it’s $24.99. *sigh*

  6. I’d say it’s worth it. 6 figures (I consider 3 infection forms to be equal to one figure) and two heavy weapons. $3 rule of thumb. 6×3=18. That sets 3 dollars cheaper than it should be.

  7. Ill buy it, too much i like to pass up. always looking for more steel blue/gray soldiers for my squad, and another flame thrower! the only one i have came with the Elephant.

  8. here, in canada, the gausshog, hornet, flood hunter, and cobra is in theshelves of toysrus. crazy toysrus always gets things first. (like the booster frame sets.)

    • overhere target has the boosterframe sets and TRU doesnt, that i have seen. I havent even seen the cobra yet 🙁
