They say that “one good zombie deserves another” (wait, no–they don’t), and that’s just what we have revealed for Halo Mega Bloks today–another Zombie-themed Halo Mega Bloks exclusive set! Whereas earlier I talked about the brand-new Halo Mega Bloks Last Man Standing Zombie Pack 91799–which was based around a Halo multiplayer “Infection” theme–this time it’s all about the Campaign mode and more traditional zombies. It’s the Halo Mega Bloks Flood Hunters Battle Unit 97160, featuring an all-new Halo Mega Bloks Flood figure!

It took MEGA Brands a few years to do it, but last year they finally started releasing a variety of figures based on the true evil in the first Halo video game trilogy–the Flood. For the last year and a half, we’ve had the same Flood-Infected Elite Combat Form figure and Flood Infection Form figures reissued over and over again (along with a rarely issued Flood-Infected Marine figure). But finally MEGA Brands has seen fit to gift us with a totally new Halo Mega Bloks Flood Carrier Form figure–and it is awesome.

As you can see, the Mega Bloks Halo Flood Carrier Form figure is not only a completely new molded figure (as it would have to be, obviously), but it can also carry a bunch of Flood Infection Form figures inside of it (because, y’know–it’s a “Carrier”). The Halo Mega Bloks Carrier Form Flood figure can then open up to send the Flood Infection Forms onto the battlefield! It’s such an obvious concept, but no Halo toy company has done it before–and it is so, so fun.

In addition to the Carrier Form Flood figure, the Halo Mega Bloks Flood Hunters Battle Unit 97160 will also include six Flood Infection form figures, yet another Flood-Infected Elite Combat figure, a Spec Ops Grey Spartan EOD figure, and a Spec Ops Grey Spartan Scout figure. Notable weapons included are a rare Flamethrower and another UNSC Missile Pod, which I for one am grateful for.

Mmmmmmmm.... Flood Carrier Form.

There’s no official confirmation yet as to where this Mega Bloks Halo Flood Hunters Battle Unit set will be exclusive to in the United States, but unless I’m losing my touch, this clearly looks to be a Toys R Us exclusive set to me. I’ll post an update to this site and the Halo Toy News Facebook page once I know the specifics of where and when the Flood Hunters Battle Unit will be released.
