Halo collectors have been waiting with bated breath (well, maybe that’s an exaggeration) for the Halo Mega Bloks Series 5.5 figures to come stateside after the blind bag set was released internationally this summer, but the wait is at an end! While it was speculated that the Halo Mega Bloks Series 5.5 Mystery Packs might be a Toys R Us exclusive, the very first sightings are actually from Target stores in the northeastern United States.

As mentioned in earlier articles, the figures in this series are exactly the same as the Series 5 assortment, with one major exception: the ultra-rare pink Spartan Air Assault figure is no longer included in the cases, and has now been replaced with an ultra-rare black Spartan EVA figure.

As it is the only new figure in the series, the ultra-rare black EVA Spartan is definitely the big prize in this assortment. The code on the back of the bag for the black EVA Spartan is A11052MM. Be aware–MEGA Brands has completely changed the codes from the international releases of this set, so the old code lists will not work until Series 5.5 is found in its entirety domestically and the new codes have been reported and shared. [I’ll purchase the new packs as quickly as I’m able in order to add the new domestic codes to the code list, but Series 5.5 has not yet arrived in my area.]

Also, if you’re still missing the ultra-rare pink Air Assault Spartan figure, now may be the time to get it! It seems unlikely that MEGA Brands will continuously ship two blind bag Halo Mega Bloks series of figures that are virtually the same, so the pink Spartan Air Assault figure from Halo Mega Bloks Series 5 will probably be phased out quickly in the near future.
