Even though it was just a week ago that the 2014 Halo Mega Bloks Series 8 blind bags were first spotted in Europe, United States sightings are starting to pour in from Toys R Us stores across the country! Along with the eight regular figures we’ve previously seen that comprise the series, the three super-rare Halo Mega Bloks Series 8 Mystery Figures have popped up for sale online! And this time, they include the first-ever clear Promethean figure…
Thus far, only three Rainbow Colored Mega Bloks Series 8 Mystery figures have popped up online. While some fans are hoping that there’s still a fourth Mega Bloks Halo Mystery figure we haven’t seen yet in this wave, this wouldn’t be the first time that a Halo Mega Bloks blind bags series included only three gummi bear-like clear active camo figures. The three figures that are included are quite nice, though!
First, the first-ever clear Active Camo Promethean: the Halo Mega Bloks Series 8 Clear Orange Promethean Watcher figure! I was a little bugged out for about an instant when I first saw the clear orange Watcher, but he quickly grew on me.
In my mind, rather than being an “Active Camo” Mega Bloks Halo figure, this is more like a Halo 4 Watcher caught in the instance of disintegrating. When you look at the Promethean Watcher mystery figure that way, it’s easily one of the most fun Halo Mega Bloks mystery figures ever!
Secondly–and almost as good–is the Smokey grey Elite Zealot clear figure. The dark and moody clear grey plastic is rather spooky, and makes the already-intimidating Halo 4 Elite Zealot figure look that much deadlier. This Zealot Elite Mystery Figure is a total winner, and I expect it to be one of the more popular Mega Bloks Halo Mystery Figures.
Finally, we’ve got the clear green Spartan Mark VI Mega Bloks Halo figure. This one is not nearly as compelling as his two mystery comrades, but the lime Spartan Mark VI is still a pretty shade of green. I don’t know that I have a burning need for this Spartan in my collection, but I’m sure plenty of completists are going to want this one.
Thus far the new Halo Mega Bloks Series 8 96978 mystery packs have only been sighted at Toys R Us Stores within the United States, although all of the Mega Bloks Halo Series 8 blind bagged figures (including the Mystery Figures) are also all up for sale online. These figures should spread to more stores once January 2014 arrives (although Halo Mega Bloks Series 7 never became really common and easy to find itself).
Are the three new Halo Mega Bloks 2014 Series 8 Mystery Figures must-haves for your Halo collection, or are these fruit-chews looking figures something you can live without?
Woudln’t be surprised if the 4th one (if there is a 4th) Was a Spartan Solider or operator in A Blue translucent plastic.
can anyone tell me if the mcfarlane toys halo figures are the same scale as halo 4 figures???
What? the megabloks figures here are about 2 inches.
No sorry. Is halo 3 mcfarlane figs same scale as halo 4 figs
No. Halo 3: 5″. Halo 4: 6″. š
The lime Spartan is an Spartan recruit.
I don’t have the need for a orange watcher but I agree that its like when its about to die
oh yeah, BTW DABID PLEASE REVIEW THE PELICAN PART 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! š
And the Hornet vs. Vampire Part 2. And the Didact. And the other stuff that hasn’t been reviewed yet. š
Yup. We want you to review EVERY Halo product that exists. jk, do everything that you can š
Hey Dabid do you think that Mega Bloks will make a FOTUS figure? Because that’s my favourite armor!
Dabid, when are you going to post part three of the pelican and the hornet reviews?
Found some series 8 in ShopKo I got most of the set but the green Spartan was missing his left arm..grief..
These have finally turned up at Tescos in the UK – first ones iv seen here yet – 2 boxes on show and found a soldier and watcher plus the rest of the set…. took me months with series 7 to get this close š
I am in Canada and I just bought a translucent orange watcher with a orange spartan hazop at Walmart in one of the mystery packs.
I just bought one of these a couple months ago to get a new figure, happened to get the green Recruit. Found out it’s $30 on Amazon and am debating whether to sell it or keep it for it’s rarity. $1.99 well spent.
Just picked up a couple of Charlie series blind bags and one of them contained a candy green Spartan III Hazop with Mk5 shoulder pauldrons, just like the Spartan IV recruit above. (November 16, 2015)
