Remember the other day when I talked about the Sideshow Exclusive Edition Master Chief Premium Format Figure? The one that pre-sold out for $400 last year that just shipped and is selling for a crazy $1000 online now? Well, Sideshow is back at it again, with not one but two new Halo statues that are going to be even more limited than the exclusive Master Chief with Needler! Going up for sale on Thursday, December 19th–the Halo Spartan Red Team Leader and Blue Team Leader Premium Format Figure statues! And this time, they’re limited to one hundred pieces each…
Not content with their best-selling Master Chief Premium Format Figure that is shipping this month, Sideshow has gone ahead and created two recolors of that statue as multiplayer Red Leader and Blue Leader Spartan statues.
Now, in and of itself, repaints are nothing anyone gets excited about. But see, there’s a catch: each of these repaints is a limited edition of 100. That’s right: one hundred. As in, both of these statues combined will still have a smaller run than just the exclusive Master Chief Halo Premium Format Figure! I don’t think I have to tell anyone here that 100 pieces is one of the lowest-runs that Sideshow Collectibles has ever done for any Premium Format Figure from any license, much less one as popular as Halo. This release is a big, big deal.
And oh yeah–if you missed the Needler with the Master Chief, both of these 25″ tall, 50-pound statues will also be coming with the super-rare Needler accessory.
Considering that the exclusive edition of the Halo Premium Format Master Chief statue has already doubled in price with an edition size that is triple that of the Premium Format Blue Spartan and Red Spartan statues, it seems almost inconceivable that the value of these Halo statues could do anything but go way, way up.

I already ordered the Master Chief excl. Statue so I was thinking if it is really worth spending 800$ and ordering these two repaints. Finally I decided that this Red vs. Blue repaint is a nice idea but not worth the 800$. If these two guys would have been two completely new statues or would come together on one base I would have definitively bought them. But so it is just a repaint of the Chief and having three time the same statue on the shelf does somehow look stupid. So these statues are perfect for people who doesn’t like the green mjolnir armor and prefer red or blue. If these statues will rise in value? Surely but it will also drop as soon as halo is no longer popular and in general I would never buy a statue just as investment.
