Earlier today I talked about the Brute Minor Covenant Weapons Pack II set, but there’s still one more Summer 2014 Halo Mega Bloks Weapons Pack set left to discuss! While this set fell a little off my radar due to the insane revelations at the MEGA Brands New York Toy Fair 2014 booth, that’s not to say that the Halo Mega Bloks Forerunner Weapons Pack II isn’t worth getting excited about. Get ready for the first-ever Promethean Crawler Sniper figure, as well as the first-release Promethean Turret and Pulse Grenades!

While MEGA Brands is still a long, long way from releasing every rank and permutation of the Covenant Jackals, Elites and Brutes, they’ll have managed to totally release every kind of Promethean Crawler in under two years!

Last year brought us Halo Mega Bloks Crawlers and Alpha Crawlers figures, this fall we’ll complete the lineup with Promethean Crawler Snipers!

Halo 4 Promethean Crawler Sniper DesignThe Promethean Sniper Crawler figure will feature the distinct protective coverings on its head, as well as the Crawler Sniper’s signature large fin on its back. It’s not hugely different from every other Forerunner Crawler figure released to casual fans’ eyes, but the differences are very obvious to hardcore Halo fans and collectors.

Toy Fair 2014 Halo Mega Bloks Promethean Crawler Sniper FigureAlong with the Promethean Crawler Sniper figure, the Halo Mega Bloks 97360 Promethean Weapons Pack II set will include a Light Rifle, Binary Rifle, two Pulse Grenades and a Promethean Turret. This is the initial release of the Pulse Grenades and the Promethean Turret, and those weapons aren’t expected to be released with any other Halo Mega Bloks set in 2014.

I was hoping that the Promethean Turret in this set was meant to be the Halo 4 Autosentry Protection Drone, but honestly, there’s no real resemblance between the included Forerunner Turret and the Promethean Autosentry armor ability. That’s really too bad, as I feel far safer and more confident in Halo 4 when I have an Auto Sentry on my side, but hopefully we’ll get some cheap army-builder Autosentries in future Halo Mega Bloks sets.

What are your impressions of the Mega Bloks Halo Forerunner Weapons Pack II, Halo collectors? Is this set enticing enough to warrant your $5-$7 a few months from now?

  1. Yay! First comment!……….Ok…….now……now im bored again…..Anyway yes this set is absolutely amazing, great army building especially for the weapons! But am i the only one hoping to see a Flood Weapons Pack?

  2. I too would appreciate a flood weapons pack and even a battle unit. I do like the looks of this set, lots of interesting new stuff, especially the color of the base plate.

  3. I would also love a Flood pack. It would be a great way to introduce a new flood figure or accessory without buying overexpensive, HUGE sets. I like the way this pack is thinking! It will be cheaper than the set with the alpha crawler, and could give new weapons, like the Light Rifle for a cheap price! And I would just like to point out, that is not the Promethean Turret. It is actually the auto turret from Halo 3!!! It was just mixed in a little bit to add to the whole “Forerunner” theme, while not actually being in the same game-period.

  4. Dabid, two more updates please, one for series Alpha and one for which sets are going to be updated this year. I believe it is the Quad-Walker, UNSC Weapons Pack II. Is that all or is there more? Please give help!

  5. I know this is not on top of the topic we are discussing but I really have to say this. I also believe that there should be a flood weapons pack. It would be very interesting. That instead of using the regular weapons they used infected ones.

    • Flood use normal weapons only vehicles and the body they posses can be “infected”

      • Yeah but the Forerunner things like Engineers, Sentinials, and the Monitors are under control of the Librarian while the Prometheans are under control of the Didact

        • Actually not all Sentinals are controlled by the librarian that was only requiem the other installations are controlled by the monitors. Also Librarian – Didact, both = Forerunner
