Halo Mega Bloks Future Figures Theme 2014 and Beyond Poll

Over on the official Halo Mega Bloks Facebook page, MEGA Brands has posted a poll asking “Which new figure theme would you most like incorporated into future sets?”

The options are:
A. Insurrectionists
B. New Mombasa Police Force
C. Civilian
D. Ancient Humans
E. Ancient Forerunner
F. Precursors
G. Other

I wanted to weigh in here with my thoughts, which are as follows: I’m not really thrilled with any of the specific options given to us by MEGA Brands here. There’s very little reference or multimedia tie-in support for Precursors and Ancient Forerunners, so I don’t see either of those making a big splash with casual fans (though they’re easily the most compelling options out of the six).

New Mombasa Police Force Halo 3 ODST Video Game Screenshot The New Mombasa Police Force members appear in one of my absolute Halo levels in the Halo 3: ODST video game, so I wouldn’t mind a few sprinkled into the Halo Mega Bloks line. Even so, these are just generic troops–I feel like we should already be getting the NMPF as figures, not having to vote to get them.

Insurrectionists, Ancient Humans and Civilians are all lame, boring choices. I’ve no clue what kind of set would be built around Ancient Humans especially. Insurrectionists are important to the Halo universe (particularly the expanded universe), but those are something we can customize easily enough without wasting a whole faction on them.

While the choices we’ve been given are pretty boring, I’m mystified that MEGA Brands would let us vote for things like “Ancient Humans” and not give us an option for the most critical Covenant races still not captured in the Halo Mega Bloks toys line–namely, Drones and Prophets!

Halo 2 Drones Screenshot Halo Mega Bloks DronesThese are “must have” characters that will actually push sets–I can’t even begin to imagine what MEGA Brands is thinking if they’re prioritizing off-screen characters and civilians over some of the most-wanted Halo characters not yet captured in Mega Bloks form.

  3. That’s really weird. Like you said almost none of those factions have ever been seen before. I’m starting to think that Halo Mega Bloks will have to go on hiatus until Halo 5 comes out. I gotta love Precursors too because if you’ve only played the games you’ve literally never heard of them. Even if you’re a hardcore fan like me you hardly know anything about them.

  4. Insurrectionists, NMPD, and drones and engineers would all be good with me as well as the odd civilian here and there, I’d also love to see more skirmisher minifigures.

  5. They should make a frickin scarab vehicle. I don’t think any other company that makes halo toys has released a scarab. So Mega books needs to make one. Am I right? That is right now the most deserving halo vehicle. Who else agrees with me?

    • The Scarab Recently one a Official Halo Mega bloks Poll for the Next Signature series vehicle. And wasn’t there an Action Clix Scarab of Some sort ages ago?

      Off topic: We have had a Default Halo 4 warthog, a Desert Halo 4 Warthog with a Gauss Cannon. Maybe in 2014 a Arctic halo 4 Warthog with A Rocket turret?

      • they literally made an arctic warthog with a rocket turret (granted, it was before halo reach had released so it was a peculiar turret) as one of their first sets, im pretty sure it included a ghost as well

        • Yup, but I specifically want the new-style Warthog as an Arctic Rockethog. Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade! =D

  6. I would love to have the rest of Noble Team Finished (Emile, Carter(I’m not sure if they did him or not), and Jun)

  7. G. Other, im not against the other factions its just the covenant haven’t been finished yet, i would like to see Prophets, Drones, and Engineers, and for the flood all forms from Halo Wars and pure forms from halo 3 and Spartan combat forms from halo 4.
    In terms of Forerunners/Ancient Humans/Precursors were not ready for them yet as the only info we have are the novels and terminals
    And as for Insurrectionists/Civilians/NMPD Officers they would be great but not in bulk like the UNSC and Covenant
    Main Factions: UNSC, Covenant, Flood, Forerunner (sentinels)
    Minor Factions: Promethean, ONI, Insurrectionist

    • Well, Nothing really changed with the Covenant separatists. no Armour changes or anything, The only change was the Phantoms were green instead of purple.

  12. Prophets floating proudly in High Charity would make me a very happy (and probably quite poor) man.

    Would really Like a Didact Figure and an Official Sgt Johnson Marine.

I have to be honest none of these options really excite me, I’m really hoping Mega BLoks includes a Miranda Keyes figure in one of their future sets I mean she’s one of the only main characters from the Halo trilogy to be never made into a figure. I think Mega Bloks could include her in a Ark control room set with the Prophet of truth, Johnson and some brute bodyguards that would be cool.

  30. Personally I would like to see civilians and females. My own MOC wargame is zombie slaves and mutants v “Straight” people. Lego is literally and figuratively square but the lack of articulation is a game breaker. I’ve used the Mega Brands Barbie and Ken attached to zombie legs and some ancient King Arthur torsos but the proprietary attachment points really limit their use. So while Mega Brands may not make a home run with civilian figures they just might look at the success of the Citizen Brick meth lab and the strip club.
