Last week I reviewed the first set of the new Halo Mega Bloks ONI REAP-X sub-theme, the UNSC Siege Bike. I wasn’t expecting a lot from that vehicle, but I ended up thinking it was a worthy purchase. Today, I’ve … Continue Reading →
Now that the craziness of San Diego Comic Con 2013 is no longer upon us, let’s switch gears from looking at the future to talking about the here and now. So let’s journey back and discuss another of the Halo Mega Bloks Summer Sets for 2013, the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Attack Cyclops 97108…
Continue Reading →One of the companies I was most looking forward to seeing new figures from at San Diego Comic-Con is a company that’s quickly becoming one of my favorite toy manufacturers: Square-Enix. Well, the good news is that Square-Enix brought tons … Continue Reading →
There’s one pretty significant Halo product being displayed at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con this week that has sort of fallen through the cracks this week, and it’s a biggie! Coming from McFarlane Toys in late 2013/early 2014, it’s … Continue Reading →
Last year as San Diego Comic Con, there really wasn’t anything especially cool or exclusive at the MEGA Brands booth for Halo Mega Bloks fans. Luckily, MEGA Brands is making up for it this year with a super desirable Halo Mega Bloks 2013 Exclusive figure available at this year’s conventions, starting with SDCC 2013: the 99693 Halo Mega Bloks Steel Mark VI Spartan figure with Green Visor!
Continue Reading →While not every company that holds a licensing deal to make Halo toys has brought new Halo figures to San Diego Comic Con 2013 (*cough* Square-Enix *cough*), most companies have brought at least a little something to the show. Or, … Continue Reading →
San Diego Comic Con 2013 Preview Night isn’t set to begin for hours yet, but our first major Halo toy news announcement has already come out from a most unexpected source: Kotobukiya! Kotobukiya did a brief tour of duty with Halo collectibles with their Kotobukiya Halo 3 ArtFX Statue series, but we haven’t heard from them in years so far as Halo goes. But it looks like Kotobukiya is returning for a second campaign in Fall 2014, when their new line of Kotobukiya Halo 4 ArtFX and ArtFX+ statues will start to be released!
Continue Reading →In late winter 2013, intel leaked that MEGA Brands was working on a newly themed series of Halo Mega Bloks sets featuring original designs not seen in the Halo video games. Dubbed Halo Mega Bloks ONI REAP-X, the line features … Continue Reading →
It doesn’t happen very often–at all–but sometimes MEGA Brands manages to get a finished Halo Mega Bloks set placed all the way up on their website before anyone knows a thing about the set. Such a rare and magical occurrence just took place in the last few days, as on the official Mega Bloks website, the previously unannounced and totally unexpected Halo Mega Bloks Blue Series Falcon 97204 silently made its debut!
Continue Reading →I was pretty hard on the Halo Mega Bloks C&C Console, Forerunner Terminal and UNSC Hangar Bay in my recent streak of Halo Mega Bloks reviews. Of course, those reviews didn’t give a full perspective on the value of any of those three sets, as that trio of Halo Mega Bloks sets has a secondary (or honestly–primary) purpose: to combine to form the Halo Mega Bloks Booster Frame vehicle from “Halo Legends”. You’ve been patient, Halo fans, and now it’s time answer the age-old question of “Is the whole Halo Mega Bloks Booster Frame” better than the sum of its individual Mega Bloks components?”
Continue Reading →It’s sad but true, Halo fans: McFarlane Toys doesn’t love us anymore. At least as far as Halo San Diego Comic Con 2013 exclusives go. No, this year McFarlane is concentrating on their current cash cows–Assassin’s Creed figures and The … Continue Reading →
I am a total sucker for arctic-themed anything. As a kid the arctic G.I. Joes were always my favorite, I loved the battle of Hoth, and I bought every crummy “snowy” variant with a couple specks of paint randomly thrown … Continue Reading →
Before I can review the Halo Mega Bloks Booster Frame next week (spoilers: I like it more than the individual sets you get the parts for it from), I need to cover the last of the three sets needed to … Continue Reading →
It seems like it’s been an eternity since I’ve had a new Halo Mega Bloks blind bagged Hero Packs codes list to post. MEGA Brands must think so, too, because they’ve doubled up the Halo Mega Bloks Series 7 assortment! … Continue Reading →
I’ll be giving the buildable Halo Mega Bloks Booster Frame vehicle its own review, but before I get there, I’ve got to review each of the three smaller summer 2013 Halo Mega Bloks sets which combine to create the UNSC Booster Frame. I started off with the passable Forerunner Terminal set (with awesome Promethean Alpha Crawler figure), and today I’m moving onto another set where the highlight is definitely the included figure: the Mega Bloks Halo UNSC C&C Console 97131…
Continue Reading →I was partway through writing my reviews for the new summer 2013 Halo Mega Bloks Brute Battle Unit and UNSC Weapons Pack when I received a flurry of requests to start covering the Booster Frame sets, so I decided to … Continue Reading →
Last week, McFarlane Toys sent out a bunch of press photos of their old Halo 4 Series 2 figures prototypes that we’d already seen a million times before. Nothing to get excited about there. But–but! Todd McFarlane has also updated … Continue Reading →
Last week I started off my coverage of the newly released 2013 Halo Mega Bloks Summer sets with the riveting Forerunner Weapons Pack and ODST Battle Unit. Now I’m ready to move on to the second of the three summer … Continue Reading →
Just when you think you’ve seen just about every variation imaginable of Halo Mega Bloks figures, MEGA Brands pulls a rabbit (or in this case a Hunter) out of a hat! As part of the summer 2013 wave of Halo … Continue Reading →
I had been planning to start my series of Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2013 set reviews with the new Battle Units, but as I started opening sets, there was an unexpected hit. One set that stood out from the rest I was opening as being the most fun and interesting and thus the one I was most excited to begin talking about. The surprise standout of the new Weapons Packs (and perhaps the small size summer Halo Mega Bloks sets altogether) is the Halo Mega Bloks Forerunner Weapons Pack 97066…
