Just when I thought I was done with my New York Comic Con 2015 Halo coverage, I realize that I’ve forgotten a few things. And the first and foremost among those things is the first thing I visited and photographed at NYCC 2015: the Dark Horse booth Halo ship replicas display! While I already ordered the first three Halo ships online, I’ve only received one and haven’t opened it yet. But based on the Halo 5 Prower and Banshee shown at NYCC, we’ve got a lot to look forward to!

While the previous Signature Series Mega Bloks Halo sets have been never-before-done vehicles (such as the UNSC Infinity, UNSC Mammoth and Covenant Scarab), this time out MEGA Brands decided to recreate a specific scene from the beloved “Halo 3: ODST” video game instead. Hope you love Pelicans (and who doesn’t?), because the Halo Mega Bloks NMPD Pelican Air Base set has now landed exclusively at Toys R Us stores!
Continue Reading →2014 was a bad year to be a Halo collector. McFarlane put out their smallest number of Halo figures in a year yet, Kotobukiya hadn’t yet re-entered the fray, and Square-Enix only put out one new Halo Play Arts Kai figure. But thankfully, that figure ended up being absolutely outstanding. And while everyone couldn’t afford to bust out 100 bucks for him before, they may want to rethink that now: the Play Arts Kai Halo 2 Anniversary Master Chief is now on sale for 48% Off!
Continue Reading →For over a year now, we’ve been waiting for the revived Kotobukiya Halo ARTFX+ statues line to officially arrive. And while I saw in-development pieces at Toy Fair in February and already pre-ordered all of the new Halo statues online this summer, at New York Comic-Con 2015 last week, I finally got to see the finished products face-to-(sculpted) face!
And those of you who’ve been looking forward to these figures, rejoice–you will not be disappointed!
Continue Reading →As promised, MEGA Brands bright the entire lineup of Halo Heroes Series 2 figures with them to New York Comic-Con 2015 today! It looks like we may have to wait longer that we’d hoped to own them, but at least … Continue Reading →
Last week, I discussed the eight (ten if you count Gummi Bear Spartans) figures that make up the Halo Mega Bloks Delta Series that will be shipping to stores this winter.
But wait–there’s more! While the actual Series Delta is now confirmed, a leaked image of what collectors thought was Delta is likely to be Halo Mega Bloks Echo Series–and it’s headlined by an Active Camo Arbiter figure!
Continue Reading →Get ready, Halo fans! The second-biggest (or first-biggest, depending on who you ask) comic book convention of 2015 is nearly upon us: New York Comic Con 2015! As usual, I’ll be on-hand at the event, covering all of the new Halo toys on exhibit by MEGA Brands, McFarlane Toys, Kotobukiya, and more! And this year, that will include the all-new Mega Bloks Halo Heroes Series 1 & Series 2 figures!
Continue Reading →I’ve been in attendance at almost every single New York Comic Con since the inception of the event, and just like every year, I’m making the trek to NYC for the show next week.
But this year is a little different on the Halo front–because for the first time ever, NYCC will have a genuine exclusive Halo toy! It’s not from MEGA Brands or even McFarlane Toys–the Dark Horse NYCC 2015 Exclusive Silver UNSC Pelican Dropship is flying in!
Continue Reading →This is it, Halo fans! The month that we have all been waiting for for nearly three years now has finally arrived, and the Halo 5: Guardians video game will launch later on this month! As such, Halo merchandising looks to finally be heating up again, with retailers who haven’t taken on exclusives in a long time getting back on-board. And one of those retailers happens to be the largest online retailer in the world! Amazon is back in the game, and they’ve secured one of Halo’s sweetest plums (so to speak) for their very own: the Amazon exclusive McFarlane Halo 5 Unhelmeted Agent Locke is now up for order!
Continue Reading →Yesterday I broke the disappointing news that there is likely to only be one boxed Halo Mega Bloks 2016 set released this winter–the Covenant Watch Tower. But while that point of information is definitely a bummer, it doesn’t mean that there’s not unboxed Halo Mega Bloks 2016 sets on the way! And the most exciting of which for most fans is unquestionably the Halo Mega Bloks Delta Series figures!
Continue Reading →We’re just one week out from New York Comic Con 2015–the next major event that MEGA Brands will be attending! Ordinarily by this time of year we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the winter wave of Halo Mega Bloks, and this year is no exception. But if you’re hoping to build whole Halo Mega Bloks 2016 sets this winter, be prepared for disappointment: this Halo 5 Mega Bloks Covenant Watch Tower appears to be the only boxed set…
Continue Reading →Considering that the Halo 5: Guardians video game hits stores in one month and the first wave of McFarlane Toys Halo 5 figures already arrived at retail this summer, many fans have been wondering when we’ll learn the makeup of the next wave. Well, wonder no longer: the McFarlane Halo 5 Series 2 figures are now up for order! But, well… those hoping for a lot of unique characters may be disappointed…
Continue Reading →As many of you have written in and noticed (and I’ve been a bit too busy to talk about here), some of the McFarlane Toys Halo 5: Guardians figures that were scheduled to be released in October have started to appear in some stores. Kelly and the Athlon Spartan have been especially difficult to find, but things just got a whole lot easier: the McFarlane Halo 5 figures are now available online with free shipping!
Continue Reading →It’s been literally years since McFarlane Toys released an entire series of new Halo figures containing more than three new figures, but the drought is at an end and the long-awaited Halo 5: Guardians figures have arrived! And what better character to begin the reviews with than the new protagonist of Halo 5–Agent Locke! The new McFarlane Spartan Locke figure is now available online and in some stores–but is he everything I hoped he would be? Well… not exactly…
Continue Reading →While it’s very possible (and perhaps even likely) that the glory days of Halo Mega Bloks toys are behind us, there’s at least one holdover set left that fans have been awaiting since the line’s beginning. And while it’s changed immensely from its original Halo Wars form, the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Firebase set is finally up for order–including exclusive figures like Spartan Kelly!
Continue Reading →Traditionally, San Diego Comic-Con has not been the most thrilling event for Halo collectors. But that was in the past, and things are definitely looking up for Halo fans at SDCC 2015! Not only is 2015 the first full year that Mattel has had as owner of MEGA Brands, but it’s also the first year that Mattel has a special SDCC Halo Mega Bloks Exclusive set planned for release! Coming our way next month: it’s the Halo 5 Mega Bloks Icons Box set with the Master Chief, Spartan Locke and the Arbiter!
Continue Reading →E3 2015 will finally take place next week, and that means that the time is near for Halo 5: Guardians hype to really kick it into high gear! As such, this is the perfect time for the Halo Mega Bloks Charlie Series to begin hitting stores in force! And whether you’re looking to build a complete set or just cherry-pick the rare figures, our handy Halo Mega Bloks Charlie Series Codes list is your best friend!
Continue Reading →For years, McFarlane Toys has been deeply entrenched in producing almost exclusively 5-6″ figures for the Halo toy line. While a McFarlane 12″ Master Chief and a pair of Spartans were released in the infancy of the Halo 3 figure … Continue Reading →
Considering that we are now less than six months out from the release of Halo 5, you would think we’d be positively rolling in news, announcements and teaser photos for upcoming Halo toys. But, well… we’re not. Things have been … Continue Reading →
Yesterday I posted my first Halo figure review in a long, long time–the McFarlane Toys Jul ‘Mdama figure. But while Jul is the only character in the set never released as a toy before, he’s not the only new Halo 4 figure I ordered online! After being spoiled by the Play Arts Kai Sarah Palmer figure two years ago, how does the McFarlane Sarah Palmer figure stack up…?
