As a few of you have noticed, we’re two weeks past New York Comic Con 2014, and I haven’t posted my usual multitude of photos of all the new Halo figures and toys that were on display at the event. … Continue Reading →
Spartan Thorne has been a busy man lately! Despite only having a minor role in the Halo 4 video game, we’ve gotten a Spartan Thorne Mega Bloks figure, a Sprukits Thorne figure, and a McFarlane Toys Spartan Gabriel Thorne coming … Continue Reading →
Over the years, MEGA Brands has given us hundreds of figures of the Covenant alien races–far more than any other toy manufacturer ever has (and likely ever will). But two major races of the Covenant have been absent from the … Continue Reading →
If I said I wasn’t getting a little impatient waiting for the first NECA Halo figure to arrive, I would be totally lying. It was still 2013 when NECA announced their acquisition of the Halo license, and we got our first glimpse of the NECA 18″ Master Chief figure prototype way back at the New York Toy Fair 2014 in February. Retailers started taking orders with an estimated summer release date, but that just didn’t happen. But finally–finally–the Master Chief is coming home! Place your orders now if you haven’t done so already–the NECA Halo Master Chief 18″ figure is expected to hit online stores in October 2014!

After over a year with zero new figure releases, today McFarlane Toys announced that in February 2015 Halo 4 Series 3 will be released. And not only is the long-demanded series of figures coming–it’s bringing us perhaps the three most fan-demanded characters from the game: Halo 4 Series 3 Jul Mdama, Commander Sarah Palmer and Spartan Thorne are now up for order!

While picking up some early Halloween candy at Target (who can resist Reese’s Pumpkins?), I ran across several boxes of a quartet of new Mega Bloks Halo sets that haven’t gotten a whole lot of fanfare: The Halo Mega Bloks Metallic Drop Pods Series 2 are now in stores!
Continue Reading →Considering all of the top-tier characters and vehicles being released in the Summer/Fall 2014 Halo Mega Bloks sets, it might surprise some people to hear that one of the hottest and hardest-to-find sets at retail is also among the smallest and cheapest. I finally ordered the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC All-Terrain Mongoose 97339 set online after missing it in stores for weeks. Of course, the biggest selling-point of this set isn’t the Mongoose–we’ve got loads of those. No, this set is hot because it comes with the first-ever Mega Bloks Halo Emile figure! Does Emile make it worth buying yet another Mega Bloks Mongoose?

Being a Halo Toy News reader can be a bit of a double-edged sword for Halo Mega Bloks fans, as while I cover a huge variety of Halo toy releases each year, all that Halo goodness racks up into quite … Continue Reading →
Halo 3: ODST is easily my favorite of the first-person shooter Halo video games, and the only one that I still play through regularly today. That’s why I’m doubly ashamed that when I walked into the MEGA Brands booth at the New York Toy Fair 2014 and saw the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Wombat on display, I had no idea what it was. Yes, I know what the Halo Wombat looks like, but I just never imagined MEGA Brands would make a toy of it. Six months later, I ordered the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Wombat Recon Droid 97451 set online for $10 and now it’s on my shelf. What do I think of the Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Wombat with The Rookie figure? Read on…

Having been jacked up by the excitement and news coming out of San Diego Comic Con 2014 for the better part of a week, I went out to Toys R Us yesterday more out of restlessness than any expectation of finding anything new on the shelves. So imagine my surprise when I waltzed into Toys R Us and discovered not only many of the Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014 sets (including the Alpha Series), but also the exclusive Halo Mega Bloks Anniversary Battleground 97519 set with Tartarus…
Continue Reading →The Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014/Fall 2014 sets are now arriving in stores, and the era of super-articulated UNSC Troops is upon us! To celebrate the evolution of Halo Mega Bloks figures, the label for what would have been the … Continue Reading →
I’d been hunting locally for new Halo Mega Bloks sets to no avail, but this week I lucked out when the Summer 2014 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Broadsword 97380 was briefly available online for the sale price of $53 shipped. … Continue Reading →
The Halo Flame Warthog skin was a DLC bonus only available to Halo fans who pre-ordered the Halo Wars video game way back in 2009. Half a decade later, the Flame Warthog DLC codes are extremely scarce and regularly sell for $30+ on the aftermarket. But as cool as the in-game Halo Wars Flame Warthog is, thanks to MEGA Brands, now you can own something even better for less than the cost of the Flame Warthog DLC code: the Summer/Fall 2014 Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Flame Warthog 97449!
Continue Reading →They say that big toy reveals come in threes (actually, I may have just made that up), and MEGA Brands proved that statement this fourth of July holiday weekend! First they debuted the monumental Halo Mega Bloks Hierarch’s Shade Convoy set, and then followed it up with the Halo 2 Anniversary Battleground battle pack. And to close out the weekend, MEGA had one more humongous Mega Bloks Halo set to announce: the Halo Mega Bloks Spartan Tribute Pack, which comes loaded with twenty Spartan Mark IV figures!
Continue Reading →After the reveal of the spectacular Halo Mega Bloks Hierarch’s Shadow Convoy on the 4th of July–including the long-requested Covenant Shade vehicle and the first-ever Mega Bloks figures of Sergeant Johnson and the Prophet of Truth–what more could Halo collectors really ask for? But while MEGA Brands didn’t really owe us anything else after such a landmark unveiling, they promised to debut another set this weekend anyway. And while it isn’t as monumental as the Halo Mega Bloks Shadow Convoy set, the Halo Mega Bloks Anniversary Collection Battleground set does include another headliner unique character: Tartarus!
Continue Reading →In the glory days of the Halo Mega Bloks line, it seemed like every time you turned around an unannounced store exclusive Halo Mega Bloks set was rearing its head somewhere in the world. Those days are sadly behind us, and the number of 2014 Halo Mega Bloks exclusives pales in comparison to what we’ve had in past years. But while we may not get a lot of Mega Bloks Halo 2014 exclusive sets, the ones we do get may make up in quality what they lack in quantity! Just revealed this week at the RTX 2014 event this week–the Halo Mega Bloks Hierarch’s Shadow Convoy 97521… with Halo Mega Bloks Sergeant Johnson figure!
Continue Reading →2014 has been a pretty dark year for Halo collectors, but thankfully, things are finally looking up! Not only do we have the entire summer/fall 2014 Halo Mega Bloks collection to look forward to, but McFarlane Toys, NECA, and Kotobukiya have gotten in on the act and have their own Halo products set for release in 2014. And now one of my absolute favorite companies is coming back into the fold: Square-Enix! At E3 2014, the next Square-Enix Play Arts Kai Halo figure was announced: the Play Arts Kai Halo 2 Anniversary Edition Master Chief figure!
Continue Reading →I genuinely did not expect any fresh Halo Mega Bloks news or photos to turn up for quite a while still, and I definitely was not expecting the first information and photos of Halo Mega Bloks 2015 sets to appear in the first half of 2014. But after last month’s Halo Mega BloksFest 2014 UK event, TheSSMotion has revealed the first three all-new 2015 Halo Mega Bloks sets for the world to see! In 2015, we’ll see the debut of metallic Cryogenic Tubes containing all-new (and very cool) Halo Mega Bloks Spartan figures!
