For Halo collectors, 2014 has pretty much been the pits. We’re currently in what is unarguably the darkest and slowest period for Halo figures and toys in the last half-decade. MEGA Brands has been eerily quiet since the 2014 Toy … Continue Reading →
There’s good news and bad news for fans of McFarlane Toys Halo figures. First, the good news: for the first time in well over a year, McFarlane Toys has officially announced new Halo action figures for release, putting the Halo … Continue Reading →
I foresaw a long and grueling drought of new information and fresh things to talk about months ago, and that’s why I held back on posting some of the news and photos from what I saw at the MEGA Brands booth at the New York Toy Fair 2014 back in February! Seeing as how it feels like eternity since I’ve had anything interesting to post about, I figure that now is as good a time as any to post my photos and impressions of the Halo Mega Bloks Alpha Series (AKA Halo Mega Bloks Series 10) figures…
Continue Reading →Of all the things that I didn’t expect to see at the 2014 Toy Fair last month–but saw anyway–a new line of Halo model kit action figures from Bandai America tops the list. Seeing as how McFarlane Toys has virtually abandoned Halo collectors without a word of comment, I wasn’t expecting any other company to start popping out Halo action figures of any sort. But Bandai America thought better, as their Halo Sprukits Model Kits figures are now available for order!

While this set fell a little off my radar due to the insane revelations at the MEGA Brands New York Toy Fair 2014 booth, that’s not to say that the Halo Mega Bloks Forerunner Weapons Pack II isn’t worth getting excited about. Get ready for the first-ever Promethean Crawler Sniper figure, as well as the first-release Promethean Turret and Pulse Grenades!
Continue Reading →I haven’t updated in a while, as I already covered all of the major Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014 sets being released, and there hasn’t been a great deal of other news to talk about. But while I’ve talked about all the big sets with vehicles, there’s still a couple smaller gems left to discuss! One such set is the 2014 Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Weapons Pack II 97359, which comes complete with the first Halo Mega Bloks Brute Minor figure ever!
Continue Reading →It’s taken a little while to get there, but I’m almost at the end of my Halo Mega Bloks coverage from last month’s New York Toy Fair 2014 event! While there’s still a sprinkling of minor sets such as new … Continue Reading →
Halo Mega Bloks Series 9 96978 was only announced one month ago, so all of us Halo collectors assumed that we were at least several months away from seeing the figures in stores. The Halo Mega Bloks Series 8 blind bags have barely begun to hit stores in many areas, but the unthinkable has now transpired. The Halo Mega Bloks Series 9 mystery packs of Halo figures have now been released and found in stores–and we’ve got the Halo Mega Bloks Series 9 codes to help you pull exactly the figures that you’re searching for!

While I was playing through the Halo 4 video game for the very first time (I can’t believe that was way back in 2012 already), there was exactly one point in the entire game when I stopped and exclaimed: “I can’t wait to own this as a Halo Mega Bloks set!” I’m referring, of course, to Halo 4 Missing 8: “Midnight”, the level featuring the Master Chief flying the UNSC Broadsword. Well, MEGA Brands will have made us wait close to two years for it, but the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Broadsword 97830 set was on display at the New York Toy Fair 2014 and will arrive in stores in Summer 2014!
Continue Reading →It used to be that Halo collectors looked to the McFarlane Toys Halo action figure line to give them every type of Spartan armor in action figure form, while MEGA Brands’ Halo Mega Bloks line had to play second fiddle with a more limited selection. But no longer! While the McFarlane Halo figures line is virtually dead, the Mega Bloks Halo line is going strong. And at last week’s New York Toy Fair 2014, MEGA Brands debuted two new sets filled with new Spartan armors: it’s the Halo Mega Bloks Fire Team Venom 97350 & Fire Team Crimson 97349 sets!
Continue Reading →I’ve been so focused on talking about all of the new Summer 2014 Halo Mega Bloks sets, I almost forgot that there were other companies who showed new Halo toys at the New York Toy Fair 2014! While NECA is a company that I traditionally haven’t taken much of an interest in (beyond their incredible, short-lived NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figure), they definitely made me sit up and take notice when they acquired a license to make Halo products last year. And at the 2014 Toy Fair, NECA brought their very first Halo product to show off–the enormous Halo 18″ Master Chief figure that showed up for pre-order last month!

MEGA Brands had all kinds of new stuff to premiere at the New York Toy Fair 2014 last week, and one of the themes that fans were most looking forward to seeing was the fan-chosen New Mombasa Police Department Halo Mega Bloks theme. I had assumed that all of the Halo Mega Bloks NMPD sets would be themed repaints of previously-released vehicles, but MEGA Brands had a real surprise in store for me: the 100% brand-new and all-awesome Halo Mega Bloks Police Cruiser !
Continue Reading →For the first several years of the Halo Mega Bloks line, with very few exceptions we didn’t receive any specific named characters. Through 2012, the only specific individuals released as Mega Bloks Halo figures were The Arbiter, the Master Chief and Cortana. But that time is over, and in 2014 we’ll be treated to a variety of well-known names, including Emile, Sarah Palmer and… ODST The Rookie! Having just debuted at the 2014 Toy Fair in New York over the weekend, the Rookie is deploying this summer with the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Wombat 97451!
Continue Reading →One of the biggest releases of the year for MEGA Brands turns out to be one of the smallest sets of the year: the Halo Mega Bloks UNSC All-Terrain Mongoose just revealed at the New York Toy Fair 2014! Of course, it’s not the Mega Bloks Mongoose itself that’s a big deal–it’s the figure it comes with! Coming Summer 2014–Halo Mega Bloks Emile Figure with the All-Terrain Mongoose 97339!
Continue Reading →MEGA Brands launched an all-new line of smaller-sized Halo Mega Bloks builds early this year–the Halo Mega Bloks Micro-Fleet. The theme began with three sets: a Micro-Fleet Mantis, a Micro-Fleet Warthog and a Micro-Fleet Hornet. That trio includes some of the most popular and iconic Halo vehicles–and in Summer/Fall 2014, they’ll be joined by one new addition: the Halo Mega Bloks Micro-Fleet Falcon 97341!
Continue Reading →Now that I’ve had my Halo Wars fanboy moment and taken the time to discuss the Halo Wars Flame Warthog, I can move on and discuss the set that I know absolutely every Halo collector is dying to see as many photos as possible of–the just-unveiled at New York Toy Fair 2014 upcoming Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series Covenant Scarab! Fans have been asking for a Mega Bloks Scarab for years, so this set has a lot of expectations to live up to. Thankfully, the Halo Mega Bloks Scarab not only meets those expectations–it exceeds them!
Continue Reading →I had the privilege of visiting the MEGA Brands showroom at the New York Toy Fair 2014 yesterday to see the Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2014/Fall 2014 lineup of products. When it comes to Halo, MEGA Brands knows what I like–and that’s Halo Wars. So when I entered the Mega Bloks Halo showroom, the first item to catch my eye (other than the jaw-dropping, gigantic Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series Covenant Scarab that I’ll discuss later) was a long-lost vehicle I never expected to see produced. Coming in Summer 2014–Halo Mega Bloks Flame Warthog!
Continue Reading →It was with a modicum of dread that I approached the McFarlane Toys booth at the New York Toy Fair 2014 today, as I was downright certain that my fears concerning the death of the McFarlane Toys Halo action figure line would be confirmed at the show. To my surprise–and delight–that turns out to not be the case at all! Alongside a bunch of old Halo 4 action figures in the display case were two brand new, never-before-seen Halo action figure, including the Halo XBox One Master Chief figure!
