Continuing on with our features on the new Halo Mega Bloks Summer 2013 sets that debuted at this year’s New York Toy Fair 2013, today we’ve focusing on one of my favorite branches of Halo Mega Bloks: Weapons Packs! Sometimes called Armory sets or Ammo Packs, the Weapons Packs are a cheap source of army-builder figures and (more importantly) detailed, painted guns. These sets haven’t always come with the best weapons assortments, but clearly MEGA Brands has heard what kind of weapons fans want in these sets loud and clear. These upcoming Weapons Packs will contain painted versions of some of the most desirable and fan-demanded guns from Halo 4…
If I tried to say that I wouldn’t be buying a bunch of those Promethean Watcher Forerunner Weapons Packs, I would be lying, I have every intention of army-building hardlight shields along with those Mega Bloks Watcher figures. Even so, that’s not all that you get in that pack–you also get the first painted release of several Forerunner weapons: the Scattershot and Suppressor! Make no mistake–this is going to be a popular set.
Summer 2013 will also be bringing us our first release of the Mega Bloks Storm Elite figure, and right off the bat you can get an indigo Elite Storm figure in the new wave of Weapons Packs! The Storm Elite figure might be tempting enough on its own, but MEGA Brands has sweetened the deal with fully-painted Plasma Repeater and Storm Rifle weapons! Again, this is going to be another undeniably hot set.
Finally, we come to the new sand-colored tan Spartan UNSC Weapons Pack. Ordinarily, I’m not real big on Spartans in this sand color, but with the Desert Gauss Warthog coming in the summer, it’ll be good to have a few of these Spartans to man it with. But far more importantly, this tan Spartan Ammo Pack is going to include a Weapons Pod and a trio of the most desirable painted weapons of the year: a DMR, a Railgun, and a SAW!
MEGA Brands has outdone themselves with these upcoming Weapons Packs and Ammo Packs, plain and simple. You can even combine the small terrain pieces together to form a larger weapons dump area. Brilliant.
As packaged samples of the Summer 2013 Halo Mega Bloks Weapons Packs sets were already available on-hand at the Toy Fair, the Weapons Packs will likely be hitting stores before many of the rest of the summer sets. We may even end up seeing these released as early as this spring. I’ll post more details on the release date for these sets as soon as they’re available.
i already preordered all three
Now I have to get all of these awesome sets. Glad I have 45$ in target gift card money and I think you know where that money’s going too!
They do love us!!!
The spartan is not tan. Tan is desert colour. The spartan is way to pale to be tan.
The closest approximation of that Spartan’s color is probably the “Pale” yellow from Halo 3, but I suspect most people won’t know what color that is, so I’m calling him tan for now. MEGA Brands hasn’t released a Pale-colored Spartan yet, so I’m betting the final production version will be more tan-colored. We’ll see in a couple months.
wow wow wow
did you know im making halo in clay the name of it is claydoh halo claydoh there 9.00$ for guys
vehicles are 12.59$
what site? i might buy some, but i don’t know where to find them
i think these will be the best summer 2013 sets as you get a good figure in each one a nd 2-3 rare/good weapons. the unsc one looks best it can also give your troops some cool weapons (SAW,DMR, and a railgun) and an ordanance drop pod. the combine the weapons racks idea is stupid as it looks stupid and who even keeps the weapon racks together they are just filler but these armory packs in my opinion will always be the best sets to buy if you want figures and weapns at good prices
