While not every company that holds a licensing deal to make Halo toys has brought new Halo figures to San Diego Comic Con 2013 (*cough* Square-Enix *cough*), most companies have brought at least a little something to the show. Or, in the case of ThreeA Toys, a couple of big somethings! Now officially announced as being in development, it’s the ThreeA Toys Halo Emile and Master Chief sixth scale figures!
My mind is pretty much thinking about toys and action figures 90% of the time, so I never forget about any companies that hold licenses I want–even if they’re companies I’ve never purchased anything from. Such is the case with ThreeA Toys, which is quite possibly the only company in existence that my brother has bought a toy from and not me (my brother bought their $600 Metal Gear REX Statue, which I have to say is rather nice).
The first figure released in the the ThreeA Toys Halo Reach line was Commander Carter. Anyone who reads my blogs regularly knows exactly what I think of Noble Squad leader Commander Carter (ie He’s an inept figurehead who gets his whole squad killed), so my dropping $200+ for a 1/6 Halo Reach Carter figure was never going to happen–no matter how amazing he looked.
Luckily, ThreeA Toys already made the character I like the least from Halo, so there was nowhere to go but up. And up they have gone–with the 1/6 Master Chief and 1/6 Emile (Noble Squad) figures! While I’d have preferred Jun or Kat to Emile, I’m not going to turn my nose up at what are likely to be two more of the most incredible Halo figures ever made.
If the pricing on the Commander Carter ThreeA Toys figure released this spring is any indication, the Halo Emile and Master Chief ThreeA Toys sixth scale figures should retail for $200-$220 each. Seeing as how the unpainted prototypes for the 1/6 Emile and the Master Chief figures have just debuted in unpainted form at SDCC 2013 this week, I’d estimate that we won’t see these figures released until spring/summer 2014.
I’ll update with more photos, news, and specifics on the next pair of ThreeA Toys Halo 1/6 figures as soon as ThreeA releases more information on them. You can follow Halo Toy News on Facebook to have updates sent directly to your Facebook Newsfeed as they happen!
These’ll be cool, though I can’t imagine paying $200 for these. Ouch.
Aye! TOP TEN WORST MCFARLANE FIGURES PLEASE! TY
I’ll definitely get a Master Chief figure. I was thinking about getting a Carter figure as well. I disagree with you about him, he’s my favourite character from Reach.
