Spartan Thorne has been a busy man lately! Despite only having a minor role in the Halo 4 video game, we’ve gotten a Spartan Thorne Mega Bloks figure, a Sprukits Thorne figure, and a McFarlane Toys Spartan Gabriel Thorne coming in 2015. But all these figures are just the warmup, believe it or not! The ultimate Thorne is coming next year–the ThreeA Toys Spartan Thorne sixth scale figure is now up for order!
While there sadly no Halo Play Arts Kai Thorne Spartan figure on the way, we are getting the next best thing (though some would say a better thing: a ThreeA Toys Halo Spartan Thorne figure!
3A Toys pulled a real fast one on us–we all thought that the next sixth scale Halo figure to see release would be the ThreeA Toys Master Chief, but it turns out to be the second most prominent Spartan-IV, Gabriel Thorne!
I’m admittedly disappointed that this figure isn’t Jun or Sarah Palmer instead, but Three A Toys has once again done a bang-up job on delivering what is likely to be one of the great Halo toys ever made.
The Spartan Thorne Three A Toys figure stands a mighty 13.5″ tall and features 35+ points of articulation, 24 LED Lights in his illuminated helmet and SPARTAN-IV Combat Armor, and Magnetic Upper Leg and Shoulder Armor for his weapons to attach to.
Thorne’s weapon loadout consists of an M6H Handgun, an MA5D Assault Rifle and an M11 Combat Knife. It’s not the most exciting assortment of weapons, but it is authentic to what Spartan Gabriel Thorne ought to be wielding, so it’s tough to complain.
I have no doubt that people are going to chime in and complain about the price of this ThreeA Toys Halo 4 Spartan Thorne figure–and that is totally within their rights. This is an expensive figure.
The Halo 3A Toys Spartan Gabriel Thorne sixth scale figure is now up for order, and is scheduled to ship in Q1/Q2 2015. He has an MSRP of $220, but you can pre-order Thorne now with no deposit for $199–about 10% off. Not bad for a no-risk pre-order!
Is there a 13.5″ Thorne action figure in your future, Halo fans? Are you psyched to see a Halo 4 Spartan get the limelight, or would you have preferred if Three A Toys had continued with the Halo 4 Spartan Noble Squad figures instead?
Nice! Although I won’t be getting as it is $200. When did they make a mega bloks Thorne btw?
There’s not an official Thorne, but there was an unofficial Spartan-IV in Thorne’s armor in the Halo Mega Bloks Summer/Fall 2013 sets. I’m sure we’ll get an official Thorne in 2015, though…
I’m hoping Mega Bloks releases a Team Majestic 5pack next year. I really like the blue they used for the Alpha wave Enforcer. Hopefully, they use it again for a Team Majestic.
In then prototype photo for the new armour, if you look in the back you can clearly see the armour of Fredrick-104 from Halo Legends. Possible “the package” set? Also right in front of him is a Noble 6 looking spartan
