It’s been pretty quiet lately with all of the early 2013 Halo Mega Bloks sets hitting store shelves and all new McFarlane Halo 4 series moved until fall 2013, so I thought I’d take advantage of the lull in the action and post something that’s been on my mind lately: namely, the future of Halo Mega Bloks. With dozens upon dozens of vehicles released, you might think that MEGA Brands has almost fully tapped out the Halo well. But there are plenty more great vehicles still to be made, not the least of which from last year’s Halo 4 video game. So without further ado, here are the top 10 Halo 4 Mega Bloks vehicles sets I’d like to see released in 2013…
10. The Cryptum
Yes, I’m immediately beginning this list by breaking my own rules with the inclusion of not a vehicle, but a playset. Hear me out, though: The Master Chief releasing The Didact from his Cryptum prison of thousands of years is one of the most integral moments in the entire Halo mythos. This is probably the best-known image from Halo 4, and a truly iconic scene. A small Halo Mega Bloks Forerunner Cryptum playset seems like a no-brainer and a cheap and easy way to include a figure of The Didact in the Halo Mega Bloks 2013 lineup. It may not be the most exciting build ever, but I can definitely see a market for a low-priced Halo Mega Bloks Cryptum set.
9. Covenant Phantom Type-44 Troop Carrier
You’ll notice a trend of remakes of old Halo Mega Bloks sets within this list, as I’ve included some of the ones that I think have the most room for upgrading and improvement. First up is the Type-44 Covenant Phantom, which debuted in Halo 4. Yes, we got a nice Halo Mega Bloks Phantom in the line a few years ago, but MEGA Brands has come a long way in the past two years. I think in 2013 we could definitely see a sturdier Covenant Phantom Mega Bloks set with more features and better deco.
8. Covenant Ghost Type-32 Rapid Attack Vehicle
Where as the Mega Bloks Phantom we have is already pretty decent, the Halo Mega Bloks Ghosts that we’ve gotten so far are a lot more mediocre. In my review of the Snowbound Arctic Rockethog last week I talked at length about how outdated the Halo Mega Bloks Covenant Ghost is, and I stand by that. As the Covenant vehicle that we see more than any other in the Halo video games, we desperately need an all-new and improved Halo 4 Ghost in the 2013 Halo Mega Bloks lineup.
7. The Composer
The big MacGuffin of Halo 4, The Composer is the Forerunner weapon that The Didact plans to use to convert humanity into Prometheans. While not technically a vehicle, The Composer is a crucial plot device in Halo 4, and an easy choice to build a set around to give Halo Mega Bloks collectors some more Prometheans Mega Bloks figures. A Halo Mega Bloks Composer would most likely not be able to be scaled perfectly, but I’d be willing to forgive MEGA Brands the inaccuracy if it brought us another cool Forerunner playset.
6. UNSC Infinity
The Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series began last year with the incredible Forward Unto Dawn, but as of yet we’ve had no word on any additions to that sub-line. As a reader of the Halo novels, I was completely sold on the UNSC Infinity from its textual descriptions before I ever even saw it. When I finally did get to see it in Halo 4, it was a truly glorious sight. 5. Mantle’s Approach (The Didact’s Ship)
The Didact’s Flagship from Halo 4, Mantle’s Approach is something entirely different from the Forward Unto Dawn, which is why it narrowly edges out the UNSC Infinity as the next ship I’d like to see in the Halo Mega Bloks Signature Series. It’s a huge Forerunner, entirely alien flagship. What’s not to love?
4. UNSC Pelican Dropship 79 Heavy-Troop Carrier
Yes, we already have a Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Pelican. But to be frank, I was never fully satisfied with the one we got. Being one of the older Halo Mega Bloks sets, that Pelican wasn’t as advanced or stable as I would have liked it to be. We finally got to pilot the Pelican in the Halo 4 video game, and its armaments were improved by the UNSC, so this vehicle just got a whole lot more powerful and desirable. The UNSC has upgraded the Pelican in time for Halo 4, so why not MEGA Brands?
3. Covenant Lich T-56 Ground Support/Ultra Heavy Deployment Platform
The Covenant Lich is the one all-new Halo 4 Covenant vehicle, and certainly among the most deadly units ever created in Halo. Think of the Covenant Lich as being like a flying Covenant Scarab. Scared yet? You should be. A huge Halo 4 Mega Bloks Lich could be the largest Mega Bloks Covenant set ever made. 2. UNSC Mammoth M510 Siegework/Ultra-Heavy Mobile Anti-Aircraft Weapons Platform
The spiritual successor to the UNSC Elephant, the UNSC Mammoth is an enormous freak of nature of a vehicle. While the Halo Mega Bloks Elephant didn’t exactly set the world on fire with its sales, there’s no denying that the Mammoth is far more notable, appearing in a core Halo video game and having plenty of screen time with an entire level built around it. The Halo 4 Mega Bloks Mammoth would certainly be among the largest Halo Mega Bloks sets ever made and a potentially huge risk for MEGA Brands, but I really believe that there’s a strong enough Halo 4 collector and fan following to make a Mega Bloks UNSC Mammoth is a monumental success.
1. UNSC Broadsword F-41 Exoatmospheric Multirole Strike Fighter
If it wasn’t for the Master Chief piloting the UNSC Broadsword in space while in pursuit of The Didact’s Flagship, the Mantle’s Approach, humanity would have been wiped out in Halo 4. The UNSC Broadsword is the most advanced fighter jet we’ve ever seen in Halo, and I’m certain that MEGA Brands could create a Halo 4 Mega Bloks Broadsword that would put their past Shortsword to shame. Of all the vehicles on this list, this seems to be by far the most likely and feasible to appear in the Halo 4 Mega Bloks 2013 lineup. If we don’t see a Halo Mega Bloks UNSC Broadsword by the end of 2013, I will be truly and utterly shocked.

Next poll…….Top 20 or 10 never created UNSC and/or Covenant vehicles and vessels that Mega Bloks/Brands has to make ASAP like the Longsword or Vulture from Halo Wars. And the Spirit or Separatist Phantom from Halo 3

I am a HUGE!!!!!!! Halo 4 fan, I pre-ordered it in July. Any how in the campaign mission where you get to go in the lich and destroy it is fun but the lich is like 2 to 3 stories it would be well over mega brands to even design that so i think it would not be game accurate what so ever to make it tiny. I know the pelican is coming out and i am urging to pre-order one. THE MAMMOTH!!!!!!!!It would be massive, but it is on wheels so easier to design, I LOVE THE MAMMOTH!!!!!!!!!!!The broadsword would be epic and easy to design, but maybe fragile. i would love to hear mega brands making a new piece for it to. You know what Niccolo bunjie doesn’t even run halo anymore. 343 came up with cryptym and the didact and everyone else in halo 4. Bunjie made the noble team kid. And mega brands is going to make the suppressor and more new zealot elites, a new pelican and a custom vehicle the cyclopse. Go to phillipve98’s channel, he has most of the new summer sets in a video, including the new ONI vehicles.

I have seen and we are getting infinity. Still we need a mammoth I would pay (get for Christmas and birthday) 650-700 dollars or 3-5 birthdays and Christmas. Yah I want It thy bad and am that desperate.
They should do the composer and the broadsword as one set because it is one level. I would pay for that like 125 dollars at the most. If they are apart that would be stupid nd pointless but I would still get the broadsword but be sad

I would love a set that is the battle above Earth in halo 4. That would include so many of the sets listed above. Infinity, pelicans, broadswords, mantle’s approach( which has the composer and the cryptum inside) and maybe even throw in a few covenant things even though they were not in the final battle. Then the figures, Chief, Cortana, The Didact, Prometheans, Spartans, Marines, Fireteams, Lasky, Palmer, Captain Del Rio, and more. Going farther, even more vehicles inside the ships and the beam turret things that watchers can build. Sadly, this will probably never happen and if it does happen it will cost so much money!

Sad thing is that the next signature series set will be the Spirit, wich would have been better as a normal set. I would have prefered to see the Lich made as a signature set.
